Springfield Police PensionAn audit of the Springfield Police/Fire Pension discovered that the City of Springfield failed to make it's pension contribution for the year ending June 30, 2005. The Assistant City Manager and Deputy City Manager have informed the SPOA that they are refusing to fund the pension again this year, ending June 30, 2006. They said funding the pension was not fair to other city employees. House Bill 1306 could hold the City of Springfield accountable for not contributing. House Bill 1306 has been in a Senate Committee recently. Springfield City Management has been to Jefferson City to lobby against House Bill 1306.
